About the role

Craigs Investment Partners (CIP) are looking for a Solution Architect to join our talented and driven Technology team, tasked with providing the Technology to help secure this leading Investment Advisory’s position as number 1 in New Zealand for years to come. Reporting to the Head of Technology, this is a senior role offering full-time hours with flexible work options.

Craigs is entering an exciting period of Transformational Change across the organisation and this role is central to this. Working with stakeholders to review and propose the optimum technology software solutions and to ensure these fit within the wider business and technology landscape and architecture. 

This role requires a person who will work in a fast-paced environment on a range of exciting projects that are key to growing the business. You'll use your strong technical expertise to advise business stakeholders, project managers, subject matter experts and developers on our standards, patterns and best practices and to provide architecture and solution design to projects and stakeholders.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for candidates with relevant IT qualifications or equivalent work experience, who are able to demonstrate technical expertise and demonstrate the following:

• Minimum 5+ years’ in a similar role within a similar sized organisation
• Strategic thinking with the commitment to drive quality improvement
• A technical person with strong high-level design experience but also understands the underlying technology. The right person must be creative and will ideally come from a developer or engineering background 
• Practical knowledge and understanding of integration patterns, service bus, API gateways, event driven integrations, real time vs near real time data exchange, synchronous and asynchronous data exchange and integration protocols such as SOAP, REST, JSON, web hooks and web services
• Strong influencing and relationship management skills
• Ability to plan and prioritise work to deliver results and meet tight deadlines and still be flexible and adaptive to change 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the business – building relationships and encouraging others on the journey towards the common goal 
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams internally and externally
• Professional and flexible approach

This is a position suiting someone who thrives on working as part of a collaborative team, contributing to best practice insights and experiences. A background in the financial sector and an understanding of financial business applications from a customer's perspective will be highly regarded.
