 About the role

We are on the lookout for a Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer who can take our existing Infrastructure as well as our IaaS and PaaS services to the next level. With a transformational scope of work on the horizon, we require an Engineer that takes pride in delivering the best, scalable and secure solutions using the latest technologies.  They will be part of a talented team of engineers tasked with achieving this goal to help secure this leading Investment Advisory’s position as number 1 in New Zealand for years to come.

The key focus of the Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer role is to support, administer and evolve the ICT services required by the business across all levels. ICT services encompass infrastructure inclusive of Virtual and physical Desktops and Servers, Cloud IaaS/PaaS/SaaS, Bespoke and Standard Applications, Network and Telecommunications areas.

The primary responsibilities of this role include the design, implementation, configuration, control, maintenance, monitoring and continuous improvement of these infrastructure services to ensure maximum availability of ICT to the business users in alignment with the IT SLA. 

Skills and Experience

We are looking for candidates with relevant IT qualifications or equivalent work experience, who are able to demonstrate technical expertise and demonstrate the following:

  • Designing, configuring, monitoring and maintaining Cloud services, e.g. Azure, Office365, MS365, Azure AD, SharePoint, Intune, Teams and other Vendor IaaS/PaaS/SaaS services
  • Architecture and delivery of solutions with MS Azure across security, virtualization, migration, and automation whilst ensuring scalability and stability.
  • Experience with Hyperconverged technology, Virtualization and networking (VMware preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops
  • Management and maintenance of configuration tools and images, including patch deployment and image updates utilizing SCCM/Intune or similar
  • Experience and in depth understanding of Windows OS on both servers and desktops
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
    Strong procedure and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with clients, staff, managers, partners and suppliers
  • Professional and flexible approach

This is a position suiting someone with initiative and a proactive attitude. A background in the financial sector and an understanding of financial business applications from a customer's perspective will be highly regarded.
