About the role

Craigs Investment Partners (CIP) takes the quality of advice our Investment Advisers deliver to clients seriously. To help them achieve these high standards, we have a dedicated Quality of Advice team who work with our Advisers to help them meet their regulatory obligations (in respect to advice) through training and monitoring, and also deliver ongoing process improvement to streamline the advice process.

The team are now looking for a Senior Associate whose primary focus is to engage with our Investment Advisers and help them learn and manage the advice process, providing guidance on often complex or unclear advice situations. 

The Senior Associate will contribute to the management and monitoring of management information systems related to the delivery of advice. They will also monitor client documentation and undertake regular reviews to ensure the highest quality of advice is being provided to CIP’s clients. 

Alongside the Head of Quality of Advice, the Senior Associate will also assist the business in the development and improvement of advisory processes and tools, collaborating closely with other teams within CIP. 

About you

This is a great role for a mature person with a sound understanding of portfolio construction and the investment advice process. 

Our ideal candidate would possess:

• At least five to 10 years’ experience in financial markets, portfolio management or advice
• A degree in a relevant discipline (ie finance, economics, business) and / or
• New Zealand Certificate in Financial Service (Level 5) or equivalent and / or
• Strong knowledge of the investment advice process 
• Thorough understanding of portfolio management concepts 
• Solid knowledge of the financial services regulatory framework
• Knowledge of advice issues faced by Advisers (investment markets, trusts, planning, tax, etc) 
• Strong technical and systems skills 
• Great attention to detail and sound communication skills
