About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll and Remuneration Specialist to join our People & Performance team at Craigs Investment Partners (CIP). Reporting to the Head of Remuneration and Benefits, this is a permanent full-time position, based at our Head Office in Tauranga.

As Payroll and Remuneration Specialist, you will be responsible for payroll processing,  reporting, data, analytics, and providing support with HR tasks.  The role is also required to: 

  • Complete end to end processing of all pay runs (monthly, end of month / out of cycle, and quarterly pays). 
  • Process payroll transations including managing payrun preparation, allowances, deductions, time and attendance data, processing employee changes, reconcilling variances, and completing reporting. Ensure that payroll processes are completed in an accurate, compliant, and timely manner.
  • Complete job sizing reviews, and keeping employee position and benchmark data up to date in the payroll systems and remuneration tools. 
  • Assist with workforce planning, including accurate data collection, position management, and headcount reporting
  • Maintain people data from various sources, reviewing and analysing to identify meaningful trends, patterns, and correlations.  Create reports to effectively communicate insights.
  • Support the People team and business with accurate data for various business requirements, such as engagement surveys, turnover, leave balances, etc.

About you 

This role will suit an experienced payroll specialist who is confident working within NZ legislation. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, and is a team player. Suitable candidates will have relevant experience in a similar role, and possess the following:

  • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing
  • Understanding of relevant NZ employment / payroll legislation and payroll systems
  • Strong knowledge of compensation and benefits practices.
  • Financial services experience (preferred) 
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent time management and organizational capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive and capable of demonstrating initiative.
  • High levels of confidentiality and discretion.
