Custodial Administrator

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Custodial Administrator to join our Operations team. Reporting to the Custodial Services Manager, this is a permanent full-time position, based at our Head Office in Tauranga. 

The Custodial Administrator is required to assist with the day-to-day operations of applications and redemptions of unlisted/unit trust in both NZ and offshore. This role requires sound understanding of the financial services sector and accounting principles. The main responsibilities are to:

  • Complete multi-currency Unit Trust applications and redemptions in a timely manner.
  • Manage the payment or receipt of funds in multiple currencies, booking contracts upon confirmation.
  • Perform daily reconciliations to ensure all bookings and money are always accounted for.
  • Create tax calculations for NZ PIE investments.
  • Liaise with the Client Service Team to facilitate and process all transfers for the Start products in a timely manner. 
  • Create an internal CSL Transfer spreadsheet to obtain the correct prices/narrations for AXYS & complete import
  • Contribute to the Me He Te (standard operating procedures) manual as required.
  • Liaise with external registries, auditors, and other teams as required.

CSL offers a full administration service, acting as a bare trustee, holding clients securities in trust. CSL collects incomes, maintains securities, and ensures appropriate action is taken for corporate action events. 

About you 

We are looking for someone with high volume administrative experience in a similar field. Prior experience within Financial Services or as a custodian is highly advantageous. This role will suit a professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment in a collaborative team. The successful candidate will have strong time management skills and be a team player. You will also have:

  • Understanding of market terminology and financial products and instruments
  • Curiosity to learn, with a willingness to become a subject matter expert
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly, embracing new technology, systems and processes 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
