About the role

We have an opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst to join our Digital Business team, with a focus around NZ tax legislation processes and regulatory reporting. This is a 9-month fixed-term contract position to cover a period of parental leave, with the successful candidate ideally starting in February 2026. The role has full time hours and is based in Tauranga; however we are open to discussing another location for the right candidate. 

As Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the successful execution of organisational change initiatives. As part of our Business Analysis team, your focus will be to: 

  • Engage with stakeholders and drive a highly collaborative approach to our business-wide project delivery
  • Collaborate closely with SMEs and vendors throughout the design and delivery of the programme
  • Assist with high level solution design
  • Lead business process design aligning to the target operation model and programme design principles
  • Write detailed requirements, functional specifications, use cases and test scenarios
  • Lead configuration of technology solutions to meet CIP solution requirements
  • Facilitate review of product design artifacts
  • Assist with design and delivery of internal application and external party integrations

About you

You will join our Digital Business team which is responsible for driving strategic change and strengthening CIP’s project delivery capabilities. As you will be working on projects with requirements around tax, working knowledge of the Financial Services Industry and NZ tax legislation is highly desirable. Ideally, you will have at least five years’ experience working in cross-functional delivery teams as part of transformation programmes around technology and business change. You will have an analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities to address complex challenges, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels. Good understanding of agile methodologies, tools and ways of working will also be highly regarded. Applicants must have a positive proactive attitude and be a team player.
